About Me and the Blog

This project grew out of my desire to read the Great Books of the western tradition.  I started out using the reading lists for St. John's College, which is an American college that uses a Great Books program as its curriculum.  I have always enjoyed history, and particularly military history, so I decided to incorporate that as part of my reading.  I also found that I needed more context to get anything out of the Great Books.

You can see the reading list so far by clicking here (link to be added).  Blogging about the books helps me engage with them and retain the information better.  I also like to play video games, so occasionally I'll probably have game or even fiction reviews, even though the main focus will be the western tradition, history/military history.
